Welcome to MedV4D project

The goal of the MedV4D project is the development of a complex software for medical imaging data analysis and processing. The medical imaging data (radiograms, CT, MRI, ultrasound) has already become the basic tool of medical diagnosis. It even goes beyond this area and is successfuly applied in the development of new medical routines, medical staff education and even during surgical interventions.

The actual usages of imaging techniques are published on tens of scientific conferences every year. The results of research are not easily implemented in ordinary practice. Thanks to the cooperation with radiologic experts (University Hospital Bulovka, Hospital Na Homolce) we are trying to incorporate theory in practice and implement various interesting tasks from the area of medical imaging data processing.

The MedV4D project is aimed at the implementation of

• image processing algorithms (numeric analysis, statistics)
• visualisation methods (GPU programming)
• interactive user interface (workflow design)
• standards common in medical computer science (DICOM, PACS)

The MedV4D project was a software project started at MFF in 2007 and finished in 2008 (the beginnings reach to a grant project MedV3D in 2006). The goal of the project at that time was to create a basis of a framework for medical data processing. This framework is further developed in its home department CGG with an aid from students of computer graphics and image processing.
