I am an associate professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, Prague (known as "Matfyz"), where I co-lead the Computer Graphics Group. I am also a co-founder of and the Director of Research at Chaos Czech a.s. (formerly Render Legion a.s.), the company behind the realistic rendering software Corona Renderer, now part of Chaos Group. Previously, I was a Marie Curie research fellow at Cornell University working with Kavita bala, and a researcher at Czech Technical University in Prague (working with Jiří Žára), as well as at University of Central Florida (working with Sumanta Pattanaik). I got my Ph.D. from INRIA Rennes and CTU Prague (joint degree, co-advised by Kadi Bouatouch and Jiří Žára).
My primary research interest is in computer graphics, with the focus on realistic rendering, light transport simulation, Monte Carlo methods, and computational fabrication/3D printing. I enjoy industry collaboration and the technologies I've co-developed have been employed, among other, by Weta Digital, PIXAR, Chaos Group, Allegorithmic, etc. The desire to see my reasearch results used in practice led me to co-founding in 2014 the company Render Legion, where I now serve as Director of Research. In 2014, I was selected for New Europe 100, “a list of outstanding challengers who are leading world-class innovation from Central and Eastern Europe”.

Fast Approximation to Spherical Harmonic Rotation

SCCG '06: Proceedings of the 22nd spring conference on Computer graphics
Note: The performance of the DirectX rotation code given in this paper was
measured on the October 2004 release. DirectX has recently got a much faster spherical
harmonics rotation code. Presentation of my
SH-rotation siggraph sketch has the updated timings (here is the
        sketch itself).
